A lot to say about this book. Plz bear with me
The book revolves around a girl in her twenties who has just stepped out of her comfort zone, far from the people taking her care and nurturing her.
Out parents always say that there's a life outside school and home where every minute our values and patience will be tested, where we would have to fight the society's mentality and still be sane and keep growing.
🌺🌺The book focuses on some key aspects of this war every person goes through in his/her 20's.🌺🌺
The first time time you face the world and get scared with the newness in the surrounding.
( Reminds me of the FRIENDS dialogue - WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD- IT SUCKS, YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT)
The second thing is you start judging yourself looking at the people around you and feeling conscious and start doubting your looks, dressing style and become judgemental.
The third thing is starting feeling lonely as you don't know how to survive, how to be at ease and there's no one to give you strength or support. All you can see or hear is people body shaming you or trying to break you down and make you feel terrible.
But then after a period of time you just try to get at ease with the new routine and start exploring. The newness which bothered you at certain point now becomes your habit.
Then once you are comfortable with this routine you get attracted to your friend or classmate. Then there's this relationship phase where you are flying and being in the best mood you can where all you feel is magical.
You just want to explore being in love, experiencing the first touch, first kiss, the butterflies in stomach.
Then there's a breakup phase where you are heart broken and are likely to go into depression, feel anxious, doubt yourself and you feel like the world around you has paused.
The most important thing is the constant battle deciding on what is right and wrong.
Should I go to a pub bunking my classes or lie to my friends and go home!?
Should I enjoy my freedom without any limits or try to be sane and safe.
And in all of the above things one thing you got to make sure is your career, your name.
End of the day this is the tender age where you are unstable, confused and still trying to make your dreams successful.
